Remember watching this live, 2005 Ashes I think. The set-up was perfect. The previous two balls had spun viciously away, massive turn, after pitching first on middle-and-leg, and then on middle… He suckered Bell right into leaving this one, classic Warnie!

I find I get drift when I get the seam right. With a scrambled seam, I don’t get drift. I hope that helps, but it might also just be a quirk of my action.

I remember listening to Warnie commentating when England played Australia in Australia last year, and he was talking about how “The Shermanator” had come on as a batsman. He admitted in the interview that this was a leggie that came out wrong, for once belly did pick him. Not as bad as Adam Holioake’s effort few years back
