Why such a long gap? Does CA schedule some tours (against Ind and WI, for instance) with more regularity than the others?
I remember this Gilly innings vividly..the series was much tighter than the results indicate(3-0)..Jayasuriya scored a magnificent 100 in the fourth innings and it looked like SL were coasting at one stage..Damien Martyn was brilliant in this series.very underrated player..he was a huge part of Aus’s victories in SL & Ind..
they felt the burden of captaincy would be to heavy for a man who was already wicket-keeper and relied on to score many runs
it’s funny in the first and second test of this series. sri lanka bowled australia out before tea on the first day of both tests and australia still smashed them
Yes our next Test series in in Sri Lanka later this year.
Are Australia going to tour Sri Lanka any time soon because the Test/ODI series occured back in early ’04, seven years ago!
Why was he not made the captain after steve was sacked in 2002 as he was his vice captain for 2 years.

If he wasn’t a keeper he probably would’ve opened or batted up the order. Very good against the new ball he was.
